What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic strands of lashes that come in different lengths, thicknesses and curls. They are applied to a single natural lash to lengthen and thicken your natural lash line. They are lightweight and meant to enhance your natural lashes. The wide variety of lash extensions means they are completely customizable to achieve your desired look.
What should I do before my eyelash appointment?
Please arrive to your appointment without any eye makeup or mascara on. Clean lashes will allow for better retention and more lashing time.
How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions?
First time full sets take between 2-3 hours depending upon which lash service you choose. You will lie comfortably on a spa bed with your eyes closed for the duration of the service. Your bottom lashes will be protected by a cooling gel eye pad. Lashes will be applied 1-by-1 with a medical grade adhesive. The process is quite relaxing and most clients will even take a nap.
How long will they last?
Your lashes will last for 2-3 weeks depending upon your lifestyle and your natural lash growth cycle. It is recommended that you get your lashes filled every 2-3 weeks to maintain a full look. Exposure to humidity and steam, touching or rubbing your eyes will cause your lashes to shed more quickly.
Can I swim, exercise or shower with extensions?
Yes, but it is required to wait 24 hours before getting your lashes wet to allow the bonding agent to completely dry.
Can I wear mascara?
Wearing mascara will reduce the longevity of your eyelash extensions. If you must use mascara it must be water based. Do not use oil-free or waterproof mascara on your extensions.
Will the eyelash extensions cause damage?
With proper application your natural lashes will not suffer any damage. Extensions are only applied to adult lashes. Baby lashes are left alone to allow them to fully develop into strong, healthy lashes. Your natural lashes have their own growth cycle and are continuously shedding and growing. This shedding process is more noticeable when you attached to a thicker, longer extension. When your extensions are removed your own lashes may appear shorter and sparser because you become accustomed to longer, thicker lashes.
What if I have a reaction?
Allergic reactions are rare, but do happen on occasion. If you have a reaction please come in for a quick and proper removal of the lash extensions. Do not attempt to take the extensions off yourself as you will cause damage your natural lashes.
